Activism and electoral experience:

Steve has been active in areas of peace/anti-militarism, civil liberties/anti-Patriot Act, tenant advocacy, First Amendment rights, police misconduct, and substance abuse treatment. He ran for Congress in 2002 and Ulster County Legislature in 2003, has served on victorious campaign committees, and is a veteran campaign petitioner and volunteer.
